Training & onboarding
Seeker Training Centre
Ten practical modules for job seekers and trainers. It complements the Guide and never reads your account records.
Seeker Training Centre module guide
1. Account, orientation & search setup · 5 min
Objective: Sign in, set an accurate search focus, and understand what TraceScout does and does not promise.
- Create an account or sign in, then open Preferences.
- Choose your country of search, up to five target roles, seniority, location, remote preferences and optional salary floor.
- Save preferences, then use Home for your current next action and search overview.
- Treat TraceScout as decision support: it does not submit applications or guarantee jobs or interviews.
2. Resume upload, attestation & versions · 6 min
Objective: Review an uploaded resume carefully, attest only accurate information, and understand version history.
- Open Resume and upload a supported file.
- Wait for reading to finish, then review every captured line and correct reading errors before attesting.
- Attest only when the content is true and yours. Matching and tailoring use attested information.
- Upload and attest a new version when your history changes; earlier versions remain part of the record.
- Use deletion carefully: deleting a source version can retire related active scores and sharing while keeping application history.
3. Browse Roles, Matches & scores · 6 min
Objective: Discover real postings and interpret a recorded match without treating it as verification or a hiring decision.
- Use Matches for roles scored against an attested resume and Browse for the wider active posting pool.
- Open the original posting for the employer's wording and apply there.
- Read the score as one resume compared with one posting, then review the rationale, strengths and gaps.
- Supply a posting you found elsewhere by pasting the full posting text, not only a title or link.
- When a newer resume version is attested, treat earlier results as historical until a current assessment exists.
4. Strengths, gaps & evidence · 5 min
Objective: Use assessment guidance without inventing experience or changing a locked source resume silently.
- Read strengths as posting needs already supported by the attested resume.
- Read gaps as areas the current resume does not evidence clearly, not as a declaration that you lack the ability.
- Add a separate clarification only in your own words and attest it, or mark the gap not applicable / not experienced.
- Remember that a clarification is stored apart from the locked resume and does not currently rescore the match.
- To put new facts into the resume, upload or edit through the normal Resume review and attestation flow.
5. Truthful tailoring, eligibility & resume design · 7 min
Objective: Use current tailoring eligibility honestly, preserve source claims, and choose an export layout without changing content.
- Open a current match and review the paid-action notice before requesting tailoring.
- Resume-to-Job Tailoring is a discounted path for an account with confirmed Resume Builder ownership; Application Kit is the standalone single-role path.
- Historical tailored records can remain viewable even when a new paid action is not currently eligible. Current controls and server authorization decide new work.
- Review every tailored line and its source evidence. Tailoring may reword or reorder attested information but may not invent claims.
- Choose Classic, Compact or Plain preview; layout changes presentation only and carries into PDF and Word export.
- Do not share a document marked modified after verification; tailor again to restore current verified lineage.
6. Application Kit, cover letters & work plans · 5 min
Objective: Prepare role-specific materials under the live entitlement shown for that role.
- Use the current product offer for the role: Application Kit is the standalone path, while discounted Tailoring requires confirmed Resume Builder ownership.
- Generate a cover letter only for a specific posting and check the role, employer and every factual claim before use.
- Use the work plan as preparation material, not as a commitment sent unchanged.
- Export only when the current entitlement allows it; Plan and billing shows the account's recorded state and purchase balance.
- Apply on the employer's own site and keep copies of the material you actually send.
7. Applications & interview preparation · 6 min
Objective: Keep an honest application record and use current interview tools as private preparation.
- After applying externally, record the role in Applications.
- Keep its stage current: Applied, Interview, Offer, Hired or Closed.
- Add private notes that help you follow up; TraceScout cannot read the employer's applicant system.
- Interview preparation can cover a recorded TraceScout application or an external interview; open the current role-specific offer and use a direct purchase or available Search Pass credit where required.
- Practice answers and history are preparation, not an employer-facing assessment.
8. Sharing, verification & references · 6 min
Objective: Share only current verified documents and explain public activity and references accurately.
- Attest the tailored resume, enable its public link, and open it yourself before sending it.
- Explain verified precisely: the client-facing resume was checked against the relevant attested source version.
- Rotate or disable a link when access should change; an old rotated address stops working.
- Read Shared resume activity as anonymous, unattributed activity—not named viewers, unique people, or proof of employer interest.
- Reference confirmation asks one person about one specific attested line. It is not a background check.
9. Career dashboard & market context · 5 min
Objective: Use Opportunity Watch, Career Pulse, market context, watched companies and progress without overreading them.
- Use Home to prioritize recorded work and open full views for controls or history.
- Review Opportunity Watch against your chosen score threshold; its review state is independent from Career Pulse.
- Read Career Pulse as recorded change since its own review baseline, not a prediction.
- Use Around your search as a snapshot of matching public postings; limited samples remain unavailable rather than showing a false zero.
- Watch exact normalized company names from Browse, and read Progress as recorded career momentum rather than a login streak.
10. Plans, privacy, deletion & help · 6 min
Objective: Read the live account state, protect personal information, understand deletion consequences and find the right help.
- Open Plan and billing for the product, state, amount/currency, renewal or access end, and remaining one-time balance recorded on your account.
- Use the pricing screen for current regional offers; do not rely on remembered or trainer-quoted prices.
- Use Privacy and Terms for handling, processors and account responsibilities. Never put passwords or payment details in feedback.
- Before deleting a resume version, read the warning: related current matches, scores, generated outputs and sharing may be retired while application history remains.
- Use Seeker Help Centre for topic search, the detailed Guide for the journey, First 10 Minutes for a checklist, and Support articles for troubleshooting.
- If a process is stuck, reload once, note the exact message, then use Send feedback without including secrets.
